This Chinese company wants to shake up the Swiss commercial vehicle market

The ever-expanding range of electric vans from the established brands Citroën, Fiat, Ford, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Renault and VW is being joined by new suppliers. In addition to the Chinese brand Maxus, which has been represented on our market for some time, JAC is also new. Since it was founded in 1964, JAC has developed from a Chinese truck manufacturer into a large and global tech company that builds 1.4 million cars a year and develops engines and electric drives. Now JAC wants to shake up not only the passenger car market but also the electric commercial vehicle market via general importer Auto Kunz in Wohlen AG - with affordable models for tradespeople and fleet operators.

At least a quarter cheaper

The price-breaking rival JAC M3EV, which will be available from late summer, is only available in one version - and only in white or black. However, the 204 hp (150 kW) Chinese electric van with its up to 5200 liter load volume and 290 kilometers WLTP range does not have to shy away from comparison with the established competition. The JAC also scores highly in terms of purchase price with a warranty of five years or 200,000 kilometers (Renault: 8 years or 160,000 km) on the traction battery. For comparison, here is an overview of similar electric vans.
